Frequently Asked Questions
Will my solar and roof payments to Sunnova be separate?
No. You will have one loan and make one payment to Sunnova for both your home solar system and battery, if applicable, as well as your roof.
Can I pay off my solar and roof loan early?
Yes, you can prepay full or partial amounts at any time without penalty. And, even if you pay off your loan early, your home solar system and roof warranty will continue to be provided.
Who do I contact if I have issues with my solar system or roof?
Your solar system is covered by the 25-year Sunnova Protect™ warranty which is designed to reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket expenses for repairs. If any issues arise with your home solar system, contact Sunnova customer service at 866.SUNNOVA to report the issue.
If you also had a new roof installed and need to report any issues with it, please contact your Sunnova dealer (listed as “Contractor” in your agreement) to report the issue. If you do not know your Sunnova dealer’s contact information, please contact Sunnova customer service by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 866.SUNNOVA
What if I sell my home prior to the end of the agreement term?
An agreement for a Sunnova home solar system and/or battery only can be transferred to the new homebuyer and you can pass the solar benefits to them. This includes our 25-year Sunnova Protect™ warranty for the home solar system.
An agreement for both a Sunnova home solar system/battery and the installation of a new roof cannot be transferred. If you sell your home, you will need to pay off the balance of your loan prior to or at the time of the closing on your home.
If you sell your home, you may transfer the Sunnova Protect™ warranty covering the solar system and/or battery, and the 10-year workmanship warranty for the roof to the new homeowner for the remainder of those warranty terms. The 25-year manufacturer's warranty for the roof may also be transferable. Consult the manufacturer’s warranty for eligibility and restrictions.
The Sunnova Customer Service team will walk you through the entire process, but it’s important that you contact us by email at email@example.com, or by phone at 866.SUNNOVA, as soon as you decide to sell your home.
Note that the new homeowner is required to meet Sunnova’s credit requirements. Refer to your agreement for conditions and limitations.
