Say aloha to solar plus battery storage

Hawaii has recently revamped its utilities model offering local residents more incentives to go solar. Sunnova customers can enjoy 25 years of rate protection for home solar without any upfront costs or down payments to pay. The Sunnova SunSafe™ Easy Save plan provides residents affordable solar plus battery storage technology, and predictable savings.

According to the Scientific American, Hawaii is aiming to be 100% renewable energy, stating, “It gets 33 percent of its electricity from rooftop home solar and has 60 utility-scale renewable energy projects feeding power to its grids.”

Sunnova is proud to partner with local Hawaii home solar installers to help bring worry-free solar energy service to residents on the islands.

Hawaii Home Solar Incentives

In April 2018, Governor David Ige (D) signed legislation that includes, “rapid integration of renewable energy sources, including quality interconnection of customer-sited resources." The new law will allow utilities to earn rewards for community renewable energy projects and help consumers “have more options for innovative renewables and batteries.” Hawaii also passed a mandate to hit 100 percent renewable electricity by 2045, becoming the first state in the U.S. to achieve this goal.

Sunnova SunSafe™ will produce and store energy—even when the grid is down, plus protecting your home solar system with an industry-leading, 25-year warranty.

Reduce Your Reliance to the Grid

Producing clean energy in Hawaii can benefit homeowners personally, with the Customer Self-Supply program. This program enables Hawaiians to install private rooftop solar systems that do not export power to the utility grid, which can include solar energy storage systems. When combining utility system upgrades and customer-leading solar energy technology, it offers powerful connectivity and saves time and money for private rooftop purchases.

Sunnova SunSafe™ maximizes the usage of the energy your home solar system produces, which helps reduce your reliance on the grid. And to top it off, we include a best-in-class warranty, Sunnova Protect1 to cover out-of-pocket expenses for maintenance and repairs, including labor.

1 Refer to the Limited Warranty in your agreement for complete warranty terms and limitations. Your solar system production will vary based on weather and other factors. The service agreement can be transferred to the new homeowner. Sunnova’s approval required. Some restrictions apply.
