  • Sunnova Repair® Services: Offered for non-Sunnova solar and solar plus storage systems, this benefit gives you access to our certified solar technicians who will repair any system that’s out of warranty, no matter where you bought it. In most states, we offer an energy guarantee with certain finance agreements, promising that your system will generate the amount of energy outlined in your agreement or we will refund or credit you the difference. Our Full-Time Technicians Receive Best-in-Class Training

When our journey began a decade ago, our mission was to create a better energy service at a better price. We’ve since paved the way in energy innovation in customer choice.

Not only do we provide monthly account servicing (billing, payments and online support), but we also perform system service.

Many solar companies outsource repairs to a third-party provider that charges the company by the hour and may not be incentivized to resolve the issue on the first visit.

Sunnova’s solar panel technicians are different — most are full-time employees. Each team member receives safety training of more than 90 hours and equipment training that surpasses 110 hours.

Since we don’t outsource, Sunnova is committed to successful outcomes, and doing what we can to repair the system right the first time.

We empower our staff with the right education, training and tools to succeed, and perform a post-visit remote audit to check that each system is operating at peak performance.

We don’t want our solar technicians to make another trip if it isn’t necessary, and we don’t want customers to generate anything less than their maximum output. As part of our commitment to a superior customer experience, Sunnova offers appointments scheduled through a dedicated customer portal.

A Growing Company with an Evolution of Service

During the peak of the pandemic, the clean energy industry cut more than 600,000 jobs.* But Sunnova solar technicians experienced the opposite.

Solar technician TJ Maciolek started at Sunnova in 2018 when there were just four field service staff in his area. He’s watched his area location grow to more than 30 employees.

“We never stopped working where other guys were either laid off or they were cut back on hours,” TJ said. “We consistently have work and we continued to hire even through the pandemic.”

It’s not only the training that sets Sunnova apart, but the opportunities for growth, as well. Last year we rolled out a tier system where top performers can advance to higher technician levels (there are five) and even qualify to become electricians and field supervisors.

David Schupsky, a solar technician who joined Sunnova in 2020, has been in the electrical industry since 2015.
